- ChessBase.com - This is a good news source for international events.
- JimVoelker.com - Local (Missouri) tournament reports and various news.
Articles
- ChessCafe.com - Articles on book reviews, openings, endings, and all sorts of things.
- Chess.fm - Not really articles, but good webcasts covering different chess events.
Governing Bodies
- USChess.org - The United States Chess Federation is the official governing body of chess in America. You can find information on upcoming national events, how to direct tournaments, ratings, and much more.
- MOChess.org - The Missouri Chess Association is the Missouri state affiliate to the USCF. They are responsible for the local tournament clearinghouse. Their website contains lists of upcoming local events, contact information for the board, and some other useful information.
Where to Play
- ChessClub.com - The ICC is the best chess server on the net. There is a membership fee for registered users, but you can play for free as a guest. My handle is Tony-Rich.
